GoSmart, Net10 & Page Plus - No longer available for new customers.

From 11/01/22, GoSmart Mobile, Net10 and Page Plus no longer accept new customers. What it signals for Simple Mobile and multi-carrier dealers.

Effective 11/01/22, the Tracfone brands GoSmart Mobile, Net10 and Page Plus are no longer available for new customers.

As I mentioned in my previous post (09/28/22):

“The names GoSmart, Net10, Simple Mobile, Tracfone will be brands of the past, even Straight Talk (Walmart). As for Page Plus, I’m not even sure how they’re still around and what they’ll do with that brand. Maybe they’ll keep that brand name for the sake of it, but they’ll most likely phase it out as well into Total.”

I said that Verizon would get rid of these brands, and with them no longer being able to bring in new customers from 11/01/2022, the process of dissolving these brands has already begun… sooner than I thought.

With that being said, Verizon will start rebranding these 3 brands to Total by Verizon sooner than I thought. I think rebranding these 3 carriers is their “phase 1” to see how the transition goes. They will give customers the option to upgrade their device to one compatible with the Verizon network, or they may offer some of their loyal customers a free basic smartphone (like AT&T Prepaid did when the 3G network shut down). Or they may guide them to their nearest local Total by Verizon store with discounts and offers for these customers.

As for Simple Mobile, the transition will start once the migration is complete or nearly done, and the Simple Mobile brand will be phased out too.

And Total by Verizon will be the new brand for it all (like Metro by T-Mobile and Cricket Wireless for AT&T).

To all my fellow multi-carrier dealers: don’t put all your eggs in one brand, especially Simple Mobile at this moment. Start to diversify your activations and port-ins to other carriers.

Start now and build up your customer base on other carriers, because in the end the Simple Mobile brand will be gone and most, if not all, of your customers will be at your local Total by Verizon store.

Protect yourself. And if you need to get more carriers in your store, feel free to reach out to me. I will connect you with the master dealers we work with.

Have a great day, and I wish all of you much success in this tough industry!

    No ZIP Code

Simple Mobile removed the ZIP code from account info in the TFDAP portal. Here’s a way to find the activation ZIP you need to port a customer out.
