Mobile X SIM card & eSIM

Mobile X is a prepaid phone service on the Verizon network. Peter Adderton, who founded Boost Mobile, launched it in 2023. You manage your line in the Mobile X app and choose either an unlimited plan or a personalized plan built around how much data you actually use. We set up Mobile X in our Newark store on an eSIM or a physical SIM card, with a new number or the one you already have.

How to get a Mobile X SIM

Bring your phone to 71 Mt. Vernon Place, Newark, NJ 07106 (Mon–Sat 8am–7pm, Sun Closed). We check it, activate your Mobile X line in your name and set it up while you wait.

Before you order

Network & coverage

Mobile X runs on the Verizon network, so you get Verizon coverage in most places. Prepaid lines may be slowed before postpaid ones at very busy times. Check the coverage map for your address before you order.

Your phone must be unlocked and work on the Verizon network; for eSIM it also needs to be eSIM-capable. Dial *#06# to see your IMEI.

Most phones set up data automatically. If mobile data or picture messages don’t work after activation, message us and we’ll walk you through the settings.

Mobile X runs on the Verizon network, so you get Verizon coverage. Your phone needs to be unlocked and compatible with Verizon.

Yes. Mobile X works on an eSIM or a physical SIM card. If your phone supports eSIM, we can set it up in our store so there’s no SIM card to wait for.

It’s a plan built around how much data you use instead of a fixed monthly bucket. The Mobile X app shows your usage so you can adjust. If you’d rather not think about data, Mobile X also has unlimited plans.

Yes, as long as your current line is still active. You’ll need the account number and number transfer PIN from your current carrier, and we handle the transfer for you. For your security we never ask for your account PIN or number transfer PIN over WhatsApp, text, email or chat: you enter it only in our secure port-in form.

Pay in our store each month and we’ll apply it to your line right away. Online Mobile X payments aren’t available on our site yet, so message us on WhatsApp if you need to pay from somewhere else.
